Discover how to view life through the lens of faith, helping midlife women reframe negativity, renew their mindset, and rediscover peace and joy.

Have you ever noticed how two people can go through the same situation and see it completely differently? One person sees defeat, while the other sees opportunity. One feels hopeless, the other hopeful.

What's the difference?

It’s not the circumstance — it’s the lens they’re looking through.

I call it your “life lens.” And just like a pair of glasses, the lens you choose determines what you see — and how you feel.

The Power of Perspective

In my closet, I have two very different pairs of glasses.

One pair is rose-colored. When I put them on, the world looks beautiful—warm, glowing, peaceful. Everything feels possible.

But when I swap them for my dark, gray-tinted lenses, suddenly the world looks dull, dreary, and lifeless. The truth is, nothing in my surroundings has actually changed. The only thing that’s changed is how I’m seeing it.

And that’s exactly what happens in life. We don’t always control what happens to us—but we can control how we view it.

As author Charles Swindoll once said, “Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it.”

How Your Mindset Determines Your Peace and Joy

How you view life determines how much peace and joy you experience. If you constantly focus on what’s wrong—what you’ve lost, who hurt you, or what didn’t work out — you’ll stay trapped in frustration and defeat.

But when you choose to see life through faith, you start noticing God’s hand even in hard moments. You realize that challenges can grow you, pain can refine you, and setbacks can prepare you for something greater.

You always have a choice: Will you wear the dark lenses of negativity — or the rose-colored glasses of faith and gratitude?

Two Life-Changing Truths

After years of walking through pain, healing, and growth, I’ve discovered two truths that have transformed my mindset and peace:

1️⃣ Joy and peace follow an attitude of victory.

Even when life hurts, I remind myself: I am an overcomer.

God hasn’t abandoned me — He’s strengthening me. I may feel the pain, but I won’t let it define me. My attitude determines whether I stay stuck or move forward.

2️⃣ The story you tell yourself becomes your reality.

Behind every emotion is a thought. And behind every thought is a story you’re telling yourself.

If your inner story sounds like “I’ll never make it” or “No one cares about me,” your emotions will mirror that narrative.

But if you choose to tell yourself the truth — “God is with me,” “I’m stronger than this,” “My best days are ahead”—your heart will follow with renewed peace and strength.

How to View Life Through God’s Eyes

When you begin to see through God’s perspective, your circumstances no longer control you.

You remember that you’re seated above your struggles, not under them (Ephesians 2:6).

You see possibilities where others see impossibility.

You see healing where others see hopelessness.

You see victory where others see defeat.

So ask yourself:
👉 What lens am I wearing today?
👉 Am I viewing life through faith or through fear?

Because the truth is — you have the power to change your perspective, and that will change your peace, your relationships, and your life.

Here’s the BraveHearted Challenge

This week, I challenge you to do three simple things:

  1. Reframe one negative thought and turn it into a declaration of faith.
  2. Reflect on something good in your life and give thanks for it.
  3. Remind yourself daily: “I see life through the eyes of victory.”

Remember, midlife isn’t the end — it’s your awakening. You’re not too late, and you’re not too broken. You’re being renewed, refined, and made brave for a greater purpose.

God has already equipped you with everything you need to live boldly and beautifully. So take off those dark lenses, put on your rose-colored glasses of faith, and start viewing life the way God does — full of hope, peace, and unstoppable joy.

“You are an overcomer. You are a daughter of the King. And your best days are still ahead.”
